New trend in automotive energy storage: bidirectional on-board charger V2X test

Release time:2024-09-20
The new energy market is developing rapidly. With the popularization of electric vehicles, the power grid will gradually face the problem of rising power load. The Institute of Research and Adjustment predicts that the number of electric vehicles in the world will reach 245 million, a double-digit increase compared to today. In order to effectively manage the entire power consumption system, the use of V2X (Vehicle-to-all) technology will help mitigate the impact of a large number of electric vehicle charging on the power grid.
The bidirectional discharge function of the bidirectional on-board charger BOBC (Bi-directional On Board Charger) V2X allows the electric energy of the electric vehicle battery to be output to the power grid, residence, external load and even other electric vehicles, that is, using the battery of the electric vehicle as an energy storage device to output power according to different application scenarios and reduce the concept of power grid load. In line with this trend, the Standardization Administration Committee of the State Administration for Market Regulation also recently issued the draft for comments of GB/T 18487.4, incorporating V2X into laws and regulations, and defining the application mode, system interface and related functional requirements of AC/DC V2L, V2V, and V2G, including general functions, performance, safety, and special requirements for power supply equipment.
For electric vehicle vehicle charger (OBC) testing, the test scheme has been widely adopted by automobile manufacturers, parts factories and quality inspection units, etc., to provide QCT/895 test requirements and customized services. In response to the technical development of BOBC, a new generation of energy recovery grid simulation power supply and bidirectional DC power supply are added on the basis of the existing test, which are provided to the Standardization Management Committee of the State Administration for Market Regulation and power battery simulation, and through bidirectional I/O interface and system integration, the application scenarios of the object under test are covered.
